Approved July 2014 – All Best Western Properties shall apply for all applicable government agency certifications such that they will be eligible for participation in federal government travel programs. Each Property will be responsible for ensuring that any certification number is updated in accordance with the terms of the applicable government program. Best Western will solicit all Properties for their preferences whether rates will be loaded as last room availability ("LRA") or non-last room availability ("non-LRA") in the applicable programs at the thencurrent, approved federal per diem rate. For those Properties that do not respond to the solicitation with a selection of LRA or non-LRA, the rates will be loaded as non-LRA so that the Property may open and close the rates as necessary. Commissions and other fees associated with each program will apply.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Best Western's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, all Best Western properties must apply for all applicable government agency certifications to be eligible for participation in federal government travel programs. This requirement was approved in July 2014.
Each Best Western property is responsible for ensuring that any certification number is updated according to the terms of the relevant government program. Best Western will ask all properties about their preference for loading rates as either last room availability (LRA) or non-last room availability (non-LRA) in the applicable programs at the then-current, approved federal per diem rate.
For properties that do not respond with a selection of LRA or non-LRA, the rates will be loaded as non-LRA. This allows the property to open and close the rates as necessary. Standard commissions and other fees associated with each program will apply to Best Western hotels.
