According to Best Brains' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee who transfers their Premium Learning Center or Teacher Learning Center franchise must pay a transfer fee of $2,500 to Best Brains. This fee is payable when the franchisee sells their franchise to a new owner, subject to Best Brains' approval.
In addition to the transfer fee, the franchisee must also ensure that several other conditions are met for the transfer to be approved. These conditions include offering Best Brains the right of first refusal, ensuring the transferee meets Best Brains' standards for franchisees, and that all outstanding monetary obligations to Best Brains are fully paid. The franchisee may also need to refurbish the franchise location to meet current standards.
It is important to note that the transfer is not effective until Best Brains provides written consent. Failure to obtain this consent will render the transfer null and void. The transfer fee covers the administrative and legal costs associated with processing the transfer and ensuring the new franchisee meets the brand's standards. This fee is relatively standard in the franchise industry, as it compensates the franchisor for the work involved in approving a transfer and maintaining brand consistency.
