Does Best Brains provide any material benefits to franchisees based on their use of a particular supplier?

According to Best Brains' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Best Brains does not provide material benefits to franchisees based on their use of a particular supplier. However, franchisees must comply with supplier standards to renew their franchise agreement. Failure to comply with these standards can result in the termination of the franchise agreement.

Best Brains requires franchisees to purchase or lease certain goods and services from approved suppliers. These include advertising material, computer hardware and software, furniture, fixtures, equipment, inventory, center décor, signs, instructional materials, insurance, lease and leasehold improvements, and training services. Best Brains is an approved supplier of advertising material, instructional materials, certain inventory, equipment, center décor, and training services. They are also the only approved supplier of instructional materials, certain inventory, equipment, center décor, and training services.

To use an alternate supplier, a Best Brains franchisee must notify Best Brains in writing and submit specifications, samples, and information, along with a fee of $500 per day for each person Best Brains provides for the determination, plus reasonable expenses. Best Brains' criteria for approving suppliers is confidential and not available to franchisees. Best Brains will notify the franchisee of their decision within 30 days of receiving all requested information and may revoke approval at any time.

In the fiscal year ending December 31, 2024, Best Brains' revenues from selling Training Services, Abacuses and Student Worksheets and Instructional Materials to franchisees was $2,824,687, which represents 32.3% of their total revenue of $8,746,534. Best Brains estimates that a franchisee's required purchases and leases will represent 25-50% of their overall purchases and leases in establishing and operating the franchised business.
