What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Best Brains Franchise Disclosure Document, Best Brains provides 14 days of initial training to the franchisee before the start of their franchised business. The FDD states that Best Brains expects training to be conducted for the franchisee and their employee at one of the Best Brains learning centers in the Chicagoland area. This training will occur in the weeks preceding the opening of the learning center, approximately one to ten weeks after signing the Franchise Agreement. The franchisee must also pass the training program to Best Brains' satisfaction. If the franchisee purchases a Premium Learning Center, they must pay Best Brains a $3,500 initial training fee, in addition to covering all travel and living expenses incurred during training.

Best Brains also offers ongoing training. Franchisees must participate in up to five days per calendar year of refresher training if required by Best Brains. This refresher training will cover operations and marketing of the franchised business and may be at a location chosen by Best Brains or may be electronic. Currently, Best Brains does not charge a fee for this ongoing training, but the franchisee must cover all travel and living expenses to attend.

While the FDD states that training will be conducted for the franchisee and their employee, it does not explicitly state whether center managers and assistants, specifically, are required to complete the initial training program. It is important to note that the franchisee must pass the training program to Best Brains' satisfaction, implying a mandatory aspect to the training for those who participate. A prospective franchisee should clarify with Best Brains the specific roles that are required to undergo the initial training program.
