Does Bens Soft Pretzels offer financing for any part of the initial investment?

Bens_Soft_Pretzels Franchise · 2025 FDD

Answer from 2025 FDD Document

  • (4) Financing. We do not generally offer financing directly or indirectly for any part of the initial investment. The availability and terms of financing will depend on factors such as the availability of financing generally, your creditworthiness, collateral you may have, and lending policies of financing institutions.
  • (5) Mobile Store. If you operate a Mobile Store, you will need a truck or a trailer that meets our standards and specifications. We worked with vendors to establish the cost estimate. Our estimate assumes you will lease or buy a basic truck and it does not include the costs to brand the vehicle, which is included in Signage in the table above. The low estimate assumes that you finance the truck.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Bens Soft Pretzels' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Bens Soft Pretzels does not generally offer direct or indirect financing for any part of the initial investment required to start a franchise. However, they do offer a program which allows for deferred payment of part of the initial franchise fee to franchisees willing to commit to open up three stores. The total initial franchise fee for this program is $65,000, $47,500 of which is due when you sign the franchise agreements for the three Stores.

The FDD indicates that the availability and terms of any potential financing will depend on various factors. These include the general availability of financing, the franchisee's creditworthiness, the collateral they may have, and the lending policies of financing institutions. This means that while Bens Soft Pretzels itself does not provide financing, a prospective franchisee may be able to obtain funding from third-party lenders based on their individual financial situation.

For those considering a mobile store, the FDD notes that the low estimate for the vehicle assumes the franchisee will lease or finance the truck. This suggests that while Bens Soft Pretzels doesn't directly finance the vehicle, financing options are commonly used for this aspect of the mobile store investment. It is important to note that the estimate does not include the costs to brand the vehicle, which is included in Signage in the table above.

Prospective franchisees should carefully consider their financing options and consult with financial advisors to determine the best approach for funding their Bens Soft Pretzels franchise. They should also inquire with Bens Soft Pretzels about any preferred lenders or financing programs that may be available.
