What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Bens Soft Pretzels' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the initial franchise fee is due upon signing the Franchise Agreement. For a standard franchise, this fee is $30,000, payable as a lump sum to Bens Soft Pretzels. This upfront payment grants the franchisee the right to operate a Bens Soft Pretzels location under the company's brand and system.

Notably, the FDD outlines alternative initial franchise fee arrangements in specific scenarios. For franchisees acquiring additional Bens Soft Pretzels locations, the initial franchise fee is reduced to $25,000. Honorably discharged veterans receive even greater discounts, paying $15,000 for their first franchise and $10,000 for each additional franchise. Bens Soft Pretzels also offers a program that allows franchisees to defer payment of a portion of the initial franchise fee if they commit to opening three stores. Under this program, the total initial franchise fee is $65,000, with $47,500 due upon signing the franchise agreements for all three stores.

It is important for prospective franchisees to understand these different fee structures and determine which option best suits their individual circumstances and business plans. The initial franchise fee is non-refundable, so franchisees should carefully consider their decision before signing the Franchise Agreement. Understanding when the fee is due allows franchisees to plan their finances accordingly and ensure they have sufficient capital available at the outset of the franchise relationship.
