What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Bens Soft Pretzels' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the company does not have fixed monthly or bimonthly training schedules. The FDD states that Bens Soft Pretzels plans to be flexible in scheduling training to accommodate their personnel, the franchisee, and the franchisee's personnel.
Initial training is provided for five days before the store opens for up to three people. While there are no additional fees for the training itself, the franchisee is responsible for covering all travel and living expenses incurred by themselves and their employees during training. Both the franchisee and their manager must successfully complete the training program to Bens Soft Pretzels' satisfaction. Failure to pass the training program can result in the termination of the Franchise Agreement, without any refund of the franchise fee or reimbursement of costs incurred by the franchisee.
In addition to the initial training, Bens Soft Pretzels may require franchisees to participate in up to five days per calendar year of refresher training focused on store operations and marketing. This refresher training may take place at an annual convention or business meeting. The franchisee is responsible for all travel and living expenses associated with any additional training programs or meetings, as well as any fees outlined in Item 6 of the FDD.
