Scoop U consists of three full days of instruction conducted at our central office headquarters in South Burlington, Vermont, along with pre-work prior to arriving in Vermont and supplemental remote/virtual instruction as needed. The in-person training program consists of lectures, presentations, conversations, field trips and hands-on experience conducted both in Scoop U as well as one or more of our company-owned Scoop Shops.

According to Ben & Jerry's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the in-person portion of the Scoop U training program is held at their central office headquarters in South Burlington, Vermont. This training consists of three full days of instruction, supplemented by pre-work and remote/virtual instruction as needed. The training includes lectures, presentations, conversations, field trips, and hands-on experience. The hands-on experience is conducted both in Scoop U and in one or more company-owned Scoop Shops.
In addition to the South Burlington location, some training also takes place at Ben & Jerry's Waterbury Facility in Waterbury, Vermont, as well as a company-owned Scoop Shop in Downtown Burlington, VT. The Waterbury visit is specifically for a 'Waterbury Experience/Tour'. The Downtown Scoop Shop provides on-the-job training.
Ben & Jerry's also states that Scoop U training may be administered fully virtually under certain circumstances, in which case the curriculum may be modified. This provides Ben & Jerry's with the flexibility to adapt the training program as needed. Franchisees should confirm with Ben & Jerry's whether in-person training is guaranteed or if virtual options are more common.
