Belocal Franchise · 2025 FDD

Answer from 2025 FDD Document

Franchisor, in its sole discretion and for any reason and no reason, has the right to accelerate the wind-down period and terminate this Agreement earlier than the termination date initially communicated to Franchisor, subject to the three days prior notice requirement, unless Franchisor has the right to immediately terminate this Agreement due to a default by Franchisee.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Belocal's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Belocal has the right to accelerate the wind-down period and terminate the Franchise Agreement earlier than the initially communicated termination date. This acceleration is subject to providing the franchisee at least three days prior notice.

However, there is an exception to the three-day notice requirement. Belocal can immediately terminate the agreement without the three days' notice if the franchisee is in default of the agreement.

This clause gives Belocal significant flexibility in ending the franchise relationship, particularly if a franchisee's performance or compliance is lacking. Prospective franchisees should understand that the wind-down period, which typically falls between fifteen and ninety days after the franchisee's request for mutual termination, can be shortened if Belocal deems it necessary, potentially disrupting the franchisee's plans for transition or sale of the business.
