Is there a fee charged for Belocal's involvement with the administration of the payment channel?

According to Belocal's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Belocal or its affiliate has the right to charge a fee for their involvement in administering the payment channel. This fee is referred to as the "Administrative Credit Card Fee."

The Administrative Credit Card Fee is intended to cover credit card transaction fees and a reasonable fee for Belocal's or its affiliate's administrative involvement. Currently, this fee is 3% of any amount paid by a third party using Belocal's designated credit card processing platform for fees or other amounts related to the Publication or the Franchised Business. Belocal specifies that this fee currently applies to event revenues, which are amounts paid by event sponsors or others connected with local events organized by the franchisee.

However, Belocal retains the right to extend this fee to other third-party payments related to the Publication or Franchised Business, provided they give franchisees 90 days' notice. Furthermore, Belocal may increase the Administrative Credit Card Fee, potentially up to a maximum of 5% of the total amount paid by a third party via credit card, with increases possibly due to vendor pricing changes. Belocal also reserves the right to mandate the use of its designated credit card processing platform for any fees or amounts owed related to the Publication or the Franchised Business.
