What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Belocal's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Belocal retains the right to access Technology or Software Programs it provides to the franchisee. If Belocal provides the franchisee with any Technology or Software Programs, or requires specific cloud systems and software, Belocal reserves the right to maintain complete access to such Technology or Software Programs, or required cloud systems and software at all times without the franchisee's permission. The franchisee must provide Belocal with all passwords and other login credentials associated with the Technology or Software Programs at Belocal's request.

However, the FDD also states that otherwise, Belocal does not have independent access to the franchisee's personal computer. This suggests that Belocal's access is limited to the specific Technology or Software Programs it provides or requires, and does not extend to the franchisee's entire computer system.

This condition is fairly typical in franchising, as franchisors often need to ensure that franchisees are using approved software and technology in compliance with brand standards and system requirements. It is important for a prospective Belocal franchisee to understand the scope of Belocal's access rights and to ensure that they are comfortable with these terms before signing the Franchise Agreement.
