What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Belocal's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Belocal maintains the right to access a franchisee's technology and software programs under specific conditions. If Belocal provides a franchisee with technology or software programs, or requires specific cloud systems and software, Belocal reserves the right to maintain complete access to these systems at all times, without the franchisee's permission. In such cases, the franchisee must provide Belocal with all passwords and login credentials upon request. However, if Belocal does not provide the technology or software, it does not have independent access to the franchisee's personal computer.

This means that as a Belocal franchisee, you may be required to grant Belocal access to certain technology and software programs if they are provided or mandated by Belocal. This access allows Belocal to ensure that the systems are functioning correctly and are being used in compliance with the franchise agreement. It is important to understand which systems Belocal requires access to and what data they will be able to view or manage.

It is also important to note that franchisees are responsible for acquiring and maintaining the technology required for the operation of the Belocal franchise. Belocal may establish new standards for technology implementation, and franchisees are obligated to comply with these standards at their own expense. This includes potential additional fees or the purchase of new technology. Franchisees are also responsible for the acquisition, operation, maintenance, and upgrading of the technology and software programs, as well as the consequences if these systems are not properly maintained.
