What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Belocal's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the financial performance representation covers the period from July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2025. This "Reporting Period" is used to calculate commission payments for 84 Belocal publications that were in print as of June 30, 2024, and had been operating for a full year. It also includes data from 88 franchisees who were active for the entirety of the Reporting Period.
Belocal specifically defines "in print" as a publication that has been in operation for at least one year under the franchisee's management. An "active franchisee" is defined as someone actively involved in in-print activities for at least one publication throughout the entire Reporting Period. This distinction is important because Belocal excludes data from publications not in print for the full year, as well as franchisees who haven't been operating for at least a year, deeming this information less reliable.
Furthermore, the financial performance representation excludes commission payments made to publications managed by franchisees whose commission payments were calculated using a different formula. It also excludes data from publications managed by Belocal's affiliate and the 13 test publications. This ensures that the financial data presented is based on a consistent commission structure and excludes any test market anomalies, providing prospective franchisees with a clearer picture of potential earnings under normal operating conditions.
