What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Belocal's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are required to use the credit card processing platform that Belocal designates for collecting credit card payments from sponsors or other participants at local events.

Belocal has the right to implement a royalty on revenue generated from these events, which Belocal can implement and subsequently change upon ninety (90) days' notice to the franchisee. Additionally, the franchisee is responsible for paying Belocal's or its affiliate's then-current credit card fee on such payments. This fee may include credit card transaction fees and a reasonable fee for Belocal's or its affiliate's involvement with the administration of the payment platform.

This policy ensures that Belocal maintains control over the financial transactions related to events organized by its franchisees. It also allows Belocal to potentially profit from these events through royalties and fees associated with the designated payment platform. For a prospective franchisee, this means they must factor in these additional costs and the potential for royalty changes when planning and budgeting for local events.
