What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Belocal's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee has 30 days to comply with any modifications or amendments to the Data Protection and Security Policies after receiving notice from Belocal. These policies, detailed in the Franchise Brand Standards Manual, govern how Franchised Business Data and Personal Information is collected, used, stored, processed, shared, or destroyed. Belocal retains the right to supplement, modify, or amend these policies at its discretion.
This requirement means that prospective Belocal franchisees must be prepared to adapt their business practices within a relatively short timeframe to align with any changes Belocal makes to its data protection and security protocols. This could involve updating software, retraining staff, or implementing new security measures. The franchisee does not have the right to alter any data privacy policy without prior written consent from Belocal.
Failure to comply with these modifications within the specified timeframe could potentially lead to a breach of the franchise agreement. Therefore, it is crucial for franchisees to stay informed of any policy updates and to promptly implement the necessary changes to ensure compliance. This also highlights the importance of maintaining open communication with Belocal to seek clarification or support in understanding and implementing the updated policies.
