What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Belocal Franchise Disclosure Document, if a franchisee fails to submit content by the communicated deadline for any of the publication's issues, Belocal reserves the right to require the franchisee to pay a 'missed deadline fee'. The exact amount of this fee is detailed in the Franchise Brand Standards Manual, which Belocal can change at its discretion.
This means that as a Belocal franchisee, meeting deadlines for content submission is critical to avoid incurring additional fees. The franchisee should review the Franchise Brand Standards Manual to understand the specific amount of the missed deadline fee. Since the fee can be changed by Belocal, it is important to stay updated on any revisions to the manual.
In addition to the missed deadline fee, Belocal also charges a 'late revisions fee' if a franchisee fails to review, make, or accept revisions to the publication during certain stages of the publication process. Franchisees should be aware of both these fees and the importance of adhering to deadlines and revision schedules to avoid these costs. Furthermore, Belocal also charges a $500 'missed conference fee' if a franchisee fails to attend at least one of the required regional and/or national conferences in a calendar year.
Belocal also has the right to deduct any fees or amounts owed to them or their affiliates from the franchisee's commissions. This underscores the importance of understanding all potential fees and adhering to deadlines and other requirements to maintain a positive financial relationship with Belocal.
