What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Belocal's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, if Belocal requires a franchisee to attend regional or national conferences and the franchisee fails to attend the required number of conferences, the franchisee must pay a missed conference fee. This fee is $500.
This policy means that Belocal franchisees need to factor in the cost of $500 if they do not attend the required conferences. It is important to note that Belocal determines the number of conferences a franchisee must attend in a calendar year. Franchisees should clarify the number of required conferences with Belocal to avoid incurring this fee.
Belocal also has the right to deduct any fees or amounts owed to them from the franchisee's commissions. This includes the missed conference fee. Therefore, franchisees should be aware that if they fail to pay the missed conference fee, Belocal can deduct it directly from their earnings.
