What are the 'Marks' associated with the Belocal franchise?

Belocal Franchise · 2025 FDD

Answer from 2025 FDD Document

We sell franchises for businesses that sell print advertising to businesses that wish to advertise in one or more print magazines, newsletters, and/or directories designed for individuals who are newcomers to a particular area ("publications"); sell digital advertising services; organize local events; facilitate the publishing of these publications; and that develop relationships with advertisers in, and recipients of, such publications ("Franchised Business"), all under the trademark "BELOCAL® " and other trade names, service marks, trademarks, logos, and commercial symbols we authorize ("Marks"). We refer to the people who operate these businesses interchangeably as Franchisees or Area Directors. The Franchised Businesses operated under the BELOCAL® Mark are also referred to herein as BL Businesses.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Belocal's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the 'Marks' associated with the Belocal franchise include the trademark "BELOCAL®" and other trade names, service marks, trademarks, logos, and commercial symbols that Belocal authorizes. These marks are used in connection with the operation of a Franchised Business.

In practical terms, this means that as a Belocal franchisee, you are granted the right to use the Belocal trademark and other approved branding elements to operate your business. This encompasses the name "BELOCAL®" itself, as well as any other logos, slogans, or designs that Belocal designates for use in promoting and identifying your franchise.

It is important to note that Belocal retains control over these Marks and can authorize or change them at its discretion. Franchisees are expected to adhere to Belocal's standards regarding the use of these Marks to maintain brand consistency and quality across all franchise locations. Unauthorized use of trademarks or branding could result in a breach of the franchise agreement.
