[Item 5: INITIAL FEES]
The initial franchise fee for a Franchised Business is $735. However, we are waiving the initial franchise fee for franchises offered or entered into on or after the Issuance Date of this disclosure document that facilitate the publishing of a new publication, unless this disclosure document is amended to reflect otherwise.
We reserve the right to charge the initial franchise fee of $735 if the franchise is for the management of a publication that was formerly a Bridge Publication.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Belocal's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the initial franchise fee is $735, but Belocal is waiving this fee for franchises offered or entered into on or after the Issuance Date of the document that facilitate the publishing of a new publication, unless the document is amended to reflect otherwise. Belocal reserves the right to charge the initial franchise fee of $735 if the franchise is for the management of a publication that was formerly a Bridge Publication.
The customer complaint fee, as outlined in Item 6, is variable. It covers Belocal's costs and expenses associated with responding to and resolving any complaint. This fee is charged if an advertiser, client, or third party complains to Belocal, and the franchisee fails to satisfactorily remedy the complaint. The fee is due on demand.
In practical terms, while the initial franchise fee may be waived, the potential costs associated with customer complaints are uncapped and depend on the nature and complexity of resolving each complaint. A Belocal franchisee could potentially incur significant expenses related to customer complaints if they are unable to resolve issues independently and must rely on Belocal's intervention. This fee is in addition to other fees due to Belocal.
