What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Belocal's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must provide Belocal with credentials and login information for any online presence they are permitted to create and operate related to Belocal, the System, the Marks, any publication, or their Franchised Business. Belocal retains the right to request this information at its option. This requirement ensures that Belocal can access and potentially control these online presences during the term of the Franchise Agreement or require their transfer after termination or expiration.

This provision allows Belocal to maintain brand consistency and control over its online image. By having access to franchisee-managed online presences, Belocal can ensure compliance with brand standards and intervene if necessary to protect its reputation. This is particularly important in the digital age, where online content can quickly spread and significantly impact a brand's perception.

For a prospective Belocal franchisee, this means they must be prepared to share their login details for any relevant online accounts with Belocal. While franchisees may initially manage their online presence, Belocal retains the ultimate authority to oversee and potentially take control of these assets. Franchisees should factor this into their business planning and ensure they are comfortable with this level of franchisor oversight.
