What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Belocal's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Belocal has the option to make software available to franchisees for a fee. This software, developed either by Belocal, its affiliates, or a designated third party, is intended to assist with client relationship management, sales order and commission management, and publication production management. However, Belocal is not obligated to develop or acquire these software programs.
For a prospective Belocal franchisee, this means that access to software that could streamline key business operations may come at an additional cost. It is important to note that Belocal is not required to provide this software at all, so franchisees should not assume that these tools will be available. If the software is offered, the fees associated with it would be an additional expense to factor into the overall cost of running the franchise.
This arrangement is fairly common in franchising, where franchisors often provide or mandate specific software solutions to maintain consistency and efficiency across the system. Franchisees should inquire about the specific software solutions that Belocal may offer, the associated fees, and whether there are alternative software options that franchisees can use if they prefer. Understanding the capabilities and costs of any optional software is crucial for budgeting and operational planning.
