What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Belocal's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, if a franchisee is authorized to sell advertisements into N2 publications managed by Belocal or its affiliates, referred to as "Bridge Publications," the franchisee must comply with Belocal's then-current policies, procedures, and guidelines related to cross-selling. This means that franchisees need to adhere to the specific rules and standards that Belocal has in place at the time for selling ads into these affiliated publications.
This compliance is important because it ensures consistency and quality across all advertising sales efforts within the Belocal network, including those extending into Bridge Publications. By following Belocal's established policies, franchisees help maintain the brand's reputation and avoid potential conflicts or misrepresentations in their sales activities.
Furthermore, the FDD states that if a franchisee is authorized to sell into Bridge Publications, they will be entitled to a commission for any cross-selling they do into these publications. This provides a financial incentive for franchisees to participate in cross-selling opportunities while adhering to Belocal's guidelines. The commission structure and policies are further detailed in the Franchise Brand Standards Manual, which franchisees must also follow.
