What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Belocal's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, if a franchisee receives an incorrect payment or benefit from a promotion or incentive, Belocal has the right to correct the error. Specifically, Belocal can credit the value of the erroneous award against the franchisee's future commissions until the full amount of the overpayment is recovered. This means that instead of requiring an immediate repayment, Belocal will reduce the franchisee's commission payments over time until the debt is settled.

This policy protects Belocal from losses due to administrative errors in incentive programs. It also provides a mechanism for recouping funds without placing an immediate financial burden on the franchisee. The franchisee is essentially paying back the erroneous award through a reduction in future earnings, rather than an immediate out-of-pocket expense.

It is important for prospective Belocal franchisees to understand this policy, as it directly affects their commission earnings in the event of an overpayment. Franchisees should maintain accurate records of all payments and incentives received to ensure they are correctly calculated and to identify any potential discrepancies promptly. This also highlights the importance of understanding the terms and conditions of any promotion or incentive programs offered by Belocal.
