What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Belocal's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees gain online access to certain confidential information after signing the Franchise Agreement but before starting initial training. Access to the complete Franchise Brand Standards Manual, along with other confidential information deemed necessary by Belocal, is granted only after the franchisee successfully completes the initial training program.
This means a prospective Belocal franchisee will not have immediate access to the full operational manual upon signing the agreement. Instead, they receive preliminary information initially, with full access contingent on completing the training program. This staged access allows Belocal to control the dissemination of its proprietary information and ensure franchisees are properly trained before receiving comprehensive operational details.
Belocal's FDD specifies that the Franchise Brand Standards Manual and other confidential information will be provided through electronic means only. The manual consists of 51 pages, and its contents are considered proprietary and must be treated as confidential. A table of contents for the manual is included as Exhibit E in the FDD. This highlights the importance Belocal places on protecting its operational methods and brand standards.
Prospective franchisees should consider the implications of this access structure. While preliminary information is provided upfront, the full operational details are withheld until training completion. This may impact the franchisee's ability to fully assess the business model before investing time and resources into the training program. Therefore, it is crucial to carefully review the table of contents and ask Belocal about the specific topics covered in training to understand what information will be provided at each stage.
