What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Belocal's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees should consult the Referral Program Policy document for more details and regulations regarding the referral program. Belocal may offer a $10,000 referral fee to franchisees who successfully introduce a new prospective franchisee.

Several conditions must be met for a Belocal franchisee to receive the referral fee. First, Belocal must approve the new prospect. Second, both Belocal and the prospect must sign a Franchise Agreement within six months of the referral. Third, the prospect must pay the full initial franchise fee and begin operating their business promptly. Fourth, the publication managed by the new franchisee must go to print, and they must earn at least one qualified commission of $3,000 (excluding ad management fees) within 12 months of starting operations. The new franchisee must also be in good standing under their franchise agreement at the time the referral fee is paid.

It's important to note that the referral fee is only available if the new franchisee manages a new publication or acquires a Bridge Publication. It is not applicable for transfers of existing Belocal franchises. The referral program is subject to all state and local laws and regulations, and Belocal reserves the right to modify or terminate the program at any time. Furthermore, only one referral fee will be paid to franchisees in Washington, and no franchisee will receive more than one referral fee for referrals made to franchisees in Washington.
