What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Belocal's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Belocal does not currently require franchisees to participate in any cooperatives, nor have they created any. This means that franchisees are not obligated to join or contribute to any cooperative advertising or purchasing groups as a condition of their franchise agreement.
In the franchise industry, cooperatives are sometimes used to pool resources for advertising or to negotiate better rates with suppliers. The absence of a cooperative requirement provides Belocal franchisees with more autonomy in their marketing and purchasing decisions. They are not forced to contribute to a collective fund or adhere to cooperative-level decisions.
However, it is important for prospective franchisees to understand that Belocal retains the right to change its policies in the future. While there are no current plans to implement a cooperative, Belocal could decide to create or require participation in cooperatives at a later date. Franchisees should monitor any policy changes and assess the potential impact on their business.
