What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Belocal's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are responsible for covering certain costs associated with training programs. While the initial training is provided at no additional charge, franchisees must pay for expenses such as transportation, lodging, meals, wages, and other travel-related costs.

Belocal franchisees are also responsible for these same costs (transportation, lodging, other travel-related costs, and wages) for any additional training that Belocal requires. Furthermore, Belocal may require attendees of additional or remedial training to pay Belocal's then-current rate or tuition/attendance fees charged by third-party providers for such training.

This means that while the core training program is included in the franchise fee, franchisees need to budget for travel and accommodation expenses for themselves and their staff. They should also be prepared to cover potential fees for additional training sessions if deemed necessary by Belocal. This is a fairly standard practice in franchising, as it ensures the franchisor can provide comprehensive training without incurring excessive costs, while also incentivizing franchisees to actively participate and benefit from the training programs.
