What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Beggars Pizza's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisee, as the customer, has several responsibilities regarding the use of the SpeedLine Solutions Inc. software. Beggars Pizza is responsible for the accuracy, quality, integrity, legality, reliability, appropriateness, and copyright of all Customer Data submitted to the software. This means the franchisee must ensure that all data entered into the system is correct, complies with all applicable laws, and does not infringe on any copyrights.

Beggars Pizza is also responsible for procuring and maintaining its own data storage and communication links, including backup systems, at its own cost. This includes ensuring continuous access to Customer Data and Online Services. SpeedLine Solutions Inc. assumes no liability for any loss of access to data or online services due to service outages. Therefore, it is critical for franchisees to have robust backup and communication systems in place to mitigate potential disruptions.

Furthermore, Beggars Pizza can only use the software for its intended purpose as a retail point-of-sale solution and related solutions, as permitted by the Software License Agreement. The franchisee is prohibited from copying, reverse engineering, decompiling, disassembling, decrypting, modifying, adapting, or translating the software in any way. They also cannot merge the software into another computer program or rewrite it into a different programming language. Using the software to test or improve a competing software package without prior written approval from SpeedLine is also a violation of the agreement. Beggars Pizza cannot sell, rent, lease, license, transfer, lend, or give away the software, nor can they "frame" or "mirror" the Online Services.

In summary, Beggars Pizza franchisees must maintain the integrity and security of their data, ensure they have adequate backup and communication systems, and adhere strictly to the permitted uses of the software as outlined in the SpeedLine Solutions Inc. Software License Agreement. Failure to comply with these responsibilities could result in a breach of the agreement and potential legal consequences.
