What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Beggars Pizza's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee has the right to renew their franchise agreement for one additional ten-year term, provided certain conditions are met. This means that the franchise agreement has a term of ten years, and can be renewed for only one additional term of ten years.
The conditions for renewal include providing timely written notice of the election to renew, completing all required maintenance, refurbishing, renovation, and remodeling of the restaurant to reflect the current Beggars Pizza image. The franchisee must also be in current compliance with the Franchise Agreement and have demonstrated substantial compliance during the initial term.
Further conditions include satisfying all monetary obligations to Beggars Pizza, its affiliates, and trade creditors, presenting evidence of the ability to remain in possession of the restaurant premises for the renewal term, and executing the then-current form of Franchise Agreement, which may have materially different terms and conditions than the original agreement. The franchisee and their owners must also execute a general release, comply with current qualification and training requirements, and pay a renewal fee. These conditions are typical in franchising, as franchisors want to ensure that franchisees are up-to-date with the brand standards and are financially stable before granting a renewal.
