What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Beggars Pizza's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the subjects and time periods allocated to those subjects in the initial training program may vary for each franchisee. The FDD states that the training may be different based on the experience level of the individuals being trained. This means that while there is a standard curriculum, Beggars Pizza tailors the training to the specific needs and prior knowledge of the franchisee and their personnel.
This flexibility can be beneficial for franchisees who have prior experience in the restaurant industry, as they may be able to focus on specific areas of the Beggars Pizza system. However, it also means that the training experience may not be uniform, and some franchisees may receive more or less training in certain areas than others. The initial training program consists of approximately 15 days of training at the Beggars Pizza headquarters in Blue Island, Illinois, and/or at an affiliate-owned Beggars Pizza Restaurant in Illinois.
Raymond Cantelo oversees the Beggars Pizza training program and has been the principal trainer since Beggars Pizza began franchising in 2004. Mr. Cantelo has extensive experience with Beggars Pizza, including roles as Manager and General Manager. The instructional materials used in the initial training program consist of the Manuals and other operational materials used in Beggars Pizza Restaurants.
Beggars Pizza does not charge tuition or impose a fee for training-related materials in connection with their initial training program. However, the franchisee is responsible for all training-related expenses incurred by all persons who attend training including costs of travel, lodging, meals, and wages. The initial training program may change due to updates in materials, methods, manuals, and personnel, or other reasons, without advance notice to the franchisee.
