What is SpeedLine's responsibility if a Beggars Pizza franchisee uses third-party software not purchased from SpeedLine?
Beggars_Pizza Franchise · 2025 FDDAnswer from 2025 FDD Document
It does not cover computer hardware or software not purchased from SpeedLine or computer hardware which is not compatible with SpeedLine's then-current specifications nor does it cover any third party software not purchased from SpeedLine. Where any third party software is purchased from SpeedLine, SpeedLine's sole responsibility is to facilitate and assist in providing the Customer with the support services of the third party owner or supplier of the third party software, to which SpeedLine has access.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Beggars Pizza Franchise Disclosure Document, SpeedLine, the software provider, has limited responsibilities regarding third-party software not purchased directly from them. Specifically, SpeedLine's support coverage extends only to software and hardware listed in the SpeedLine quote and initially covers diagnostics and troubleshooting from the software's implementation until it's used in the franchisee's business, provided SpeedLine performed the implementation.
SpeedLine explicitly does not cover computer hardware or software not purchased from them, nor any third-party software not acquired through SpeedLine. If a Beggars Pizza franchisee opts to use third-party software independently, SpeedLine will not be obligated to provide support or correct any issues arising from its use. However, if the third-party software was purchased from SpeedLine, their responsibility is limited to facilitating and assisting the franchisee in obtaining support services from the third-party owner or supplier, to the extent SpeedLine has access to those services.
This has significant implications for a prospective Beggars Pizza franchisee. It underscores the importance of carefully considering the source of software and hardware used in their operations. Choosing to deviate from SpeedLine's offerings means assuming full responsibility for any technical issues or incompatibilities that may arise. While franchisees have the freedom to choose their own solutions, they must be aware that this decision comes with the trade-off of forfeiting SpeedLine's direct support for those components. It is essential to evaluate whether potential cost savings or specific features of alternative software outweigh the benefit of having integrated support from SpeedLine.
