What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Beggars Pizza's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, SpeedLine is not responsible for software incompatibilities caused by software updates that are not compatible with a franchisee's existing computer hardware, operating system, or supporting facilities. This means that if a Beggars Pizza franchisee installs a SpeedLine software update and it causes problems due to incompatibility with their current technology, SpeedLine will not be held liable for those issues.

This lack of responsibility extends to various scenarios. SpeedLine is not liable if the franchisee uses hardware or operating systems not supplied and implemented by SpeedLine or an authorized integrator. Additionally, SpeedLine is not responsible if the franchisee fails to meet SpeedLine's implementation criteria for the equipment and software. However, SpeedLine is responsible if the incompatibilities arise from their own implementation or training, provided that the implementation and training were carried out properly.

This policy has significant implications for prospective Beggars Pizza franchisees. It underscores the importance of maintaining compatible hardware and software systems and adhering to SpeedLine's implementation guidelines. Franchisees may need to budget for potential hardware or software upgrades to ensure compatibility with SpeedLine updates. It is also crucial for franchisees to ensure that any third-party integrators are SpeedLine-certified to avoid compatibility issues that SpeedLine will not cover. Franchisees should discuss support options and hardware/software requirements with Beggars Pizza prior to signing the franchise agreement.
