What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Beggars Pizza FDD, the SpeedLine Solutions Inc. SpeedDine Online Ordering System Subscription Agreement dictates where legal actions can be initiated. Specifically, Beggars Pizza customers agree that SpeedLine can bring actions, suits, or proceedings against them in the Province of British Columbia, where SpeedLine is based, or elsewhere where the customer has a business presence.

This means that if a dispute arises between SpeedLine and a Beggars Pizza customer, SpeedLine has the option to pursue legal action either in British Columbia or in a jurisdiction where the Beggars Pizza customer operates a business. The customer, by agreeing to the terms, submits to the jurisdiction of the courts in British Columbia and waives objections to the venue in those courts.

For a prospective Beggars Pizza franchisee, this clause highlights the importance of understanding the legal implications of agreements with third-party vendors like SpeedLine. While the franchisee is not directly involved in actions between SpeedLine and a customer, this clause clarifies the legal framework governing the online ordering system that Beggars Pizza uses. It is important for franchisees to ensure their own legal counsel reviews all vendor agreements to fully understand their rights and obligations.
