What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Beggars Pizza's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, SpeedLine reserves the right to modify or discontinue the service provided to franchisees. Specifically, SpeedLine can modify the service (or any part of it) temporarily or permanently at any time and from time to time.
If SpeedLine modifies the service in a way that removes or disables a feature or functionality that the Beggars Pizza franchisee materially relies on, the franchisee has the right to terminate the agreement. To do so, the franchisee must provide SpeedLine with thirty days' notice. In this case, the franchisee will not be subject to a termination fee, penalty, or liability. Furthermore, the franchisee will receive a pro-rata refund of any subscription fees they paid in advance for the terminated portion of the term.
The document also states that SpeedLine reserves the right to discontinue offering the service at the conclusion of the franchisee's then-current term. Beggars Pizza franchisees acknowledge that SpeedLine will not be liable to them or any third party for any modification of the service as described in this section of the agreement. This is a fairly standard clause in technology service agreements, allowing the provider to evolve their offerings, but it's important for franchisees to understand their recourse if changes negatively impact their business.
