What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Beggars Pizza Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must use only revolving baking ovens that Beggars Pizza designates or approves. This requirement ensures that all Beggars Pizza restaurants maintain a consistent standard of quality and operational efficiency.
If a franchisee wishes to use a revolving baking oven that is not already on the approved list, they must seek written approval from Beggars Pizza. The franchisee is responsible for covering the costs associated with the evaluation and testing of the proposed oven to ensure it meets Beggars Pizza's standards. Beggars Pizza commits to using its best efforts to notify the franchisee of its decision within 30 days of receiving the request. However, if a decision is not received within this period, the supplier is deemed unapproved, and the franchisee cannot use the oven.
Beggars Pizza retains the right to revoke approval of particular ovens or suppliers at any time if they determine that the products no longer meet their standards. This allows Beggars Pizza to maintain quality control and consistency across all franchise locations. This requirement is part of a broader set of sourcing restrictions, where Beggars Pizza estimates that 95% of a franchisee's expenditures for leases and purchases in establishing and operating the restaurant will be subject to these restrictions.
