Answer from 2025 FDD Document

You will operate a Beggars Pizza® Restaurant (the "Restaurant") according to the terms of our franchise agreement in the form attached as Exhibit C to this disclosure document (the "Franchise Agreement") according to our standards as described below. The Beggars Pizza® system (the "System") is identified by certain trade names, service marks, trademarks, trade dress, logos, emblems, and indicia of origin including the mark "Beggars Pizza®" and the mark "Beggars Pizza (plus logo)" (collectively, the "Proprietary Marks"). We may add, eliminate, modify, or substitute any of the Proprietary Marks at any time in our sole discretion.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Beggars Pizza's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Beggars Pizza retains the right to modify its Proprietary Marks at its discretion. The Proprietary Marks identify the Beggars Pizza system and include trade names, service marks, trademarks, trade dress, logos, emblems, and indicia of origin, specifically mentioning "Beggars Pizza®" and "Beggars Pizza (plus logo)".

This means that Beggars Pizza has the authority to add, eliminate, modify, or substitute any of these Proprietary Marks at any time. For a franchisee, this implies that the branding and visual identity of their restaurant could change during the term of their franchise agreement. While such changes are typically intended to modernize or improve the brand, franchisees must adapt to these changes, which may involve costs for updating signage, menus, and other branded materials.

Franchisors commonly reserve the right to modify trademarks and other brand elements to keep the brand current and competitive. However, franchisees should understand the potential financial implications of rebranding and ensure that the franchise agreement outlines the responsibilities and costs associated with implementing such changes. Prospective franchisees should inquire about the frequency and scope of potential brand updates and how Beggars Pizza supports franchisees in managing these transitions.
