What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Beggars Pizza's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Beggars Pizza is not required to compensate franchisees for data obtained from them. The FDD states that all data provided by the franchisee, uploaded to Beggars Pizza's system, downloaded from the franchisee's system, or obtained electronically or otherwise from the franchisee, is owned exclusively by Beggars Pizza. Beggars Pizza can use this data in any manner it deems appropriate without providing any compensation to the franchisee.

This includes data created or collected by the franchisee in connection with the Beggars Pizza system or the operation of the restaurant, such as consumer and transaction data. Beggars Pizza owns this data during the term of the agreement and even after termination or expiration of the agreement. Franchisees must provide copies or originals of such data to Beggars Pizza upon request.

However, Beggars Pizza licenses the use of this data back to the franchisee at no additional cost. This license is solely for the term of the agreement and only for the franchisee's use in connection with establishing and operating the Beggars Pizza restaurant. This arrangement is typical in many franchise systems, where the franchisor seeks to leverage system-wide data for marketing, operational improvements, and other strategic purposes.
