What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Beggars Pizza's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must purchase certain items from Begcom or other designated suppliers to ensure uniform quality and image. Begcom is the designated supplier of specific food items and supplies, including cheeses, sausages, and paper products. Some of these items bear the Proprietary Marks, while others do not. Beggars Pizza may also specify other designated suppliers for products, materials, supplies, paper goods, fixtures, furnishings, and equipment used or sold at the restaurant.
To maintain quality and service, franchisees must operate their restaurants according to the methods, standards, and specifications prescribed by Beggars Pizza in the manual or in writing. This includes using only products and ingredients acquired from designated or approved suppliers and ensuring that all items conform to Beggars Pizza's standards and specifications. Franchisees must avoid using nonconforming items without prior written consent from Beggars Pizza. Beggars Pizza has the option to designate itself or an affiliate as the exclusive approved supplier for any products or items.
Franchisees are required to sell or offer for sale only menu items, products, and services expressly approved in writing by Beggars Pizza. They must sell or offer all types of menu items, products, and services specified by Beggars Pizza and avoid deviating from the franchisor's standards and specifications without prior written consent. Beggars Pizza retains the right to disapprove any menu items, products, or services in writing at any time, and franchisees must discontinue selling such items. Beggars Pizza will provide a deadline for franchisees to offer new approved products for sale (at least 90 days after notice) or to cease selling items that are no longer approved (at least 30 days after notice).
Franchisees must ensure that all advertising and promotional materials, signs, decorations, and other items specified by Beggars Pizza bear the Proprietary Marks in the prescribed form, color, location, and manner. Franchisees are also obligated to maintain the premises, including adjacent public areas, in a clean, orderly condition and in excellent repair. This includes making necessary additions, alterations, repairs, and replacements, such as periodic repainting or replacement of obsolete items, as directed by Beggars Pizza. At Beggars Pizza's request, franchisees must refurbish the premises every five years (or sooner if required by the lease) to conform to the current image for new Beggars Pizza restaurants, which may include structural changes, remodeling, and redecoration.
