What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Beggars Pizza's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee must obtain prior written consent from SpeedLine to increase the number of terminals using the SpeedLine software. The software can only be used on the number of terminals that is equal to the number of SpeedLine Solutions software user licenses received by the customer, as specified in the Quote.
This requirement ensures that Beggars Pizza franchisees adhere to the licensing terms of the SpeedLine software. It prevents unauthorized use of the software on more terminals than licensed, which could lead to copyright infringement or breach of contract. Obtaining written consent allows SpeedLine to track software usage and ensure compliance with licensing agreements.
For a prospective Beggars Pizza franchisee, this means that any plans to expand the number of point-of-sale terminals in their restaurant must be pre-approved by SpeedLine. This process likely involves contacting SpeedLine, explaining the need for additional terminals, and potentially purchasing additional software licenses. Failure to obtain this consent could result in penalties or legal action from SpeedLine. Franchisees should factor in the time and potential costs associated with this approval process when planning any expansion or changes to their technology infrastructure.
