What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Beggars Pizza Franchise Disclosure Document, the Site Selection Addendum is an integral part of the Franchise Agreement. The terms outlined in the Site Selection Addendum take precedence over any conflicting terms in the general Franchise Agreement concerning site selection.
The Site Selection Addendum, attached as Exhibit B to the Beggars Pizza Franchise Agreement, details the process and requirements for selecting a location for the franchisee's restaurant. According to section 1.2 of the agreement, if a location hasn't been secured and approved at the time of signing the Franchise Agreement, the franchisee has 90 days to find a site, subject to Beggars Pizza's approval as outlined in the addendum.
The Site Selection Addendum outlines specific obligations for both the franchisee and Beggars Pizza. The franchisee must submit a site review form, necessary information, and a letter of intent within 60 days of signing the addendum. Beggars Pizza then has 30 days to approve or disapprove the proposed site. Beggars Pizza also provides site selection guidelines and may conduct on-site evaluations, with the franchisee potentially responsible for reimbursing expenses for additional evaluations beyond the first two.
The FDD emphasizes that the franchisee is ultimately responsible for independently investigating the suitability of the site, and Beggars Pizza's approval only indicates that the site meets the company's minimum criteria at the time of evaluation. Beggars Pizza is not liable if an approved site fails to meet the franchisee's revenue or operational expectations.
