What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Beggars Pizza's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must get approval from Beggars Pizza for all advertising and promotional materials before use. This approval extends to the prices the franchisee intends to charge. Franchisees need to submit samples of their advertising plans, including designs, advertisements, signs, and proposed coupons, to Beggars Pizza for review. This applies to all forms of media, such as print, broadcast, cable, electronic, computer, and the Internet.
Beggars Pizza's approval process requires franchisees to send their advertising materials to the designated "Advertising Department – Ad Review." Franchisees cannot use these materials until they receive written approval from Beggars Pizza. If the franchisee doesn't receive written notice of approval or disapproval within fifteen days of Beggars Pizza receiving the materials, the advertising is considered disapproved.
This requirement ensures that all advertising aligns with Beggars Pizza's brand standards and marketing strategies. By controlling the advertising content, including pricing, Beggars Pizza aims to maintain consistency and protect its brand image across all franchise locations. This also allows Beggars Pizza to ensure that franchisees are not advertising prices that could undermine the overall profitability or brand perception of the franchise system.
For a prospective franchisee, this means they must factor in the time required for advertising approval when planning marketing campaigns. Failure to obtain approval can result in the franchisee being non-compliant with the franchise agreement. Franchisees should maintain open communication with the Beggars Pizza advertising department to ensure timely feedback and avoid potential delays in their promotional activities.
