What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Beggars Pizza's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, certain recipes are considered proprietary, confidential, and trade secrets. These include the recipes for pizza dough, spaghetti and pizza sauces, sausage, and secret spice blends. Beggars Pizza retains the right to develop additional trade secret food ingredients in the future.

As a franchisee, you are required to purchase these items, as well as spaghetti sauces, pizza sauce spices, cheeses, sausages, pizza dough, spice blends, and paper products, from Beggars Pizza, its affiliates, or approved suppliers. This ensures uniformity and quality control across all Beggars Pizza restaurants. These products are sold through Begcom or other designated suppliers.

Beggars Pizza is not obligated to disclose the standards, specifications, formulas, recipes, or ingredients for these proprietary or trade secret products to prospective suppliers if they, in their sole discretion, consider them confidential. This protects Beggars Pizza's competitive advantage and ensures that only authorized sources can provide these key ingredients. Franchisees must also use revolving baking ovens that Beggars Pizza designates or approves.

This arrangement means that as a franchisee, you will have limited flexibility in sourcing ingredients and supplies, but it also ensures that you are using the same high-quality, proprietary ingredients that define the Beggars Pizza brand. It is important to adhere to these sourcing restrictions to maintain the consistency and quality of the products offered at your Beggars Pizza restaurant.
