Franchisee will not use any such advertising or promotional plans or materials unless and until Franchisee has received written approval from Franchisor, pursuant to the procedures and terms set forth in Section 12.7.
Franchisor may make available to Franchisee from time to time, preapproved advertising that Franchisee must use during such season and at such times as Franchisor will specify in writing.
Franchisor may make available such promotional materials including, without limitation, newspaper mats, coupons, merchandising materials, point-of-purchase materials, special promotions, and similar advertising and promotional materials at Franchisee's expense.
- 12.7 Franchisor Approval.
Franchisee must submit to Franchisor samples of all advertising and promotional plans and materials (including, without limitation, any design, advertisement, sign, or form of publicity) and proposed coupons for any print, broadcast, cable, electronic, computer, or other media (including, without limitation, the Internet) that Franchisee desires to use and that have not been prepared or previously approved by Franchisor within the preceding six (6) months (as provided in Section 21), for Franchisor's prior approval (including with respect to prices to be charged).

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Beggars Pizza's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Beggars Pizza may provide franchisees with pre-approved advertising materials. These materials could include newspaper mats, coupons, merchandising materials, point-of-purchase materials, special promotions, and similar advertising. The franchisee is responsible for the expense of these promotional materials.
However, franchisees are not allowed to use any advertising or promotional materials that have not received written approval from Beggars Pizza. Franchisees need to submit samples of all advertising and promotional plans to Beggars Pizza for approval, especially if the materials haven't been pre-approved or approved within the last six months. This includes any design, advertisement, sign, or form of publicity intended for print, broadcast, cable, electronic, computer, or other media, including the Internet.
If a franchisee submits advertising materials for approval, they must send it to the Advertising Department – Ad Review. Beggars Pizza has 15 days from receipt to provide written approval. If the franchisee doesn't receive approval within that timeframe, the advertising is considered disapproved. This process ensures that all advertising aligns with Beggars Pizza's brand standards, but it also means franchisees need to plan ahead and allow time for approval before launching any advertising campaigns.
