Answer from 2025 FDD Document

LOCATION AND NUMBER OF TERMINALS: The on-premises implemented software may be used only at the Customer's location as specified in the Quote, and only on the number of terminals which is equal to the number of SpeedLine Solutions software user licenses received by the Customer or, in the case of certain of the software programs, only on one (1) of the Customer's terminals, as specified in the Quote.

No change of the location or increase to the number of terminals may be made without the prior written consent of SpeedLine.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Beggars Pizza's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are restricted from increasing the number of terminals using the on-premises implemented software without prior written consent from SpeedLine. The number of terminals allowed is determined by the number of SpeedLine Solutions software user licenses the franchisee has received, as specified in the Quote. For certain software programs, usage may be limited to just one of the franchisee's terminals, also as detailed in the Quote.

This restriction ensures that Beggars Pizza franchisees adhere to the software licensing agreements and maintain the integrity of the point-of-sale system. It prevents unauthorized use of the software on more terminals than licensed, which could lead to performance issues, security vulnerabilities, or violations of the software agreement. Franchisees must, therefore, carefully plan their terminal needs and obtain the appropriate number of licenses from the outset.

For a prospective Beggars Pizza franchisee, this means that any plans to expand the number of point-of-sale terminals at their location must be communicated to and approved by SpeedLine in writing. Failure to do so could result in a breach of the software license agreement and potential penalties. This requirement underscores the importance of accurate forecasting and proactive communication with both Beggars Pizza and SpeedLine regarding technology needs.

This is a fairly standard practice in franchising, as franchisors need to maintain control over their systems and ensure compliance with software licensing. Franchisees should factor in potential future expansion when initially setting up their Beggars Pizza location to avoid later complications and additional costs associated with acquiring more software licenses.
