What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Beggars Pizza's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee must obtain prior written consent from Beggars Pizza before using any nonconforming items. To ensure the highest degree of quality and service, franchisees must operate their restaurants in strict conformity with the methods, standards, and specifications prescribed by Beggars Pizza in its manual or in writing.
Specifically, franchisees must maintain a sufficient supply of products and ingredients acquired from suppliers designated or approved by Beggars Pizza. They must use only those ingredients, products, materials, supplies, paper goods, fixtures, furnishings, equipment, signs, and menu items that conform to Beggars Pizza's standards and specifications. Deviation from these standards by using nonconforming items is prohibited without prior written consent from Beggars Pizza.
Beggars Pizza retains the right to designate itself or an affiliate as an approved supplier, or even the only approved supplier, for any products or other items. Additionally, franchisees can only sell or offer for sale menu items, products, and services that have been expressly approved in writing by Beggars Pizza. Franchisees must sell or offer for sale all types of menu items, products, and services specified by Beggars Pizza and must discontinue selling any items that Beggars Pizza disapproves of in writing. Beggars Pizza will provide a deadline for franchisees to start selling a newly approved product (at least 90 days after notice) or to stop selling a product that is no longer approved (at least 30 days after notice).
In summary, a Beggars Pizza franchisee needs to seek and receive explicit written approval from Beggars Pizza before using any product, ingredient, or supply that does not conform to the franchisor's established standards and specifications. This process ensures uniformity and quality across all Beggars Pizza locations.
