What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Beggars Pizza Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must adhere to the franchisor's standards and specifications for all products, materials, supplies, and equipment used in the restaurant. These standards are established in the manual or in writing. If a franchisee wishes to use a product, material, supply, or piece of equipment that does not conform to Beggars Pizza's standards, they must obtain prior written consent from the franchisor.
Specifically, franchisees are required to purchase all food items, ingredients, supplies, materials, and other products and equipment from the franchisor, its affiliates, or approved suppliers. These suppliers must demonstrate their ability to meet Beggars Pizza's standards and specifications, maintain adequate quality controls, have the capacity to promptly and reliably supply the franchisee's needs, and be approved by Beggars Pizza in the manual or in writing.
This requirement ensures consistency and quality across all Beggars Pizza locations, protecting the brand's reputation. For a prospective franchisee, this means they have limited flexibility in sourcing products and equipment and must follow the franchisor's established supply chain. Any deviation from this requires explicit approval from Beggars Pizza.
While the FDD excerpt specifies the need for written consent, it does not detail the exact process for requesting approval for nonconforming materials. A potential franchisee should ask Beggars Pizza for more information about the specific steps involved in seeking approval, including any required documentation, evaluation criteria, and expected turnaround times.
