What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Beggars Pizza's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee must obtain prior written consent from Beggars Pizza before installing any fixtures, furnishings, equipment, decor, signs, or other items on or about the premises. This requirement ensures that all elements within the restaurant align with Beggars Pizza's brand standards and image.
In practical terms, if a franchisee wishes to use a fixture that deviates from the standard specifications provided by Beggars Pizza, they must first seek approval. This involves a formal request in writing to the franchisor, detailing the specific fixture and its intended use. Beggars Pizza retains the right to deny the request if the fixture does not meet their standards or fit with the overall aesthetic and operational requirements of the restaurant.
This stipulation is common in franchising to maintain uniformity and brand consistency across all locations. While it provides Beggars Pizza with control over the restaurant's appearance and functionality, it also means that franchisees have limited autonomy in choosing their own fixtures and must adhere to the franchisor's guidelines. Franchisees should factor in these requirements when budgeting for initial setup and ongoing maintenance, as they will likely need to purchase approved items from Beggars Pizza or its designated suppliers.
