What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Beggars Pizza's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees, their managers, and other employees may be required to attend additional training programs. Beggars Pizza can mandate attendance at additional courses, seminars, conferences, monthly or annual meetings, and other training programs as deemed reasonably necessary. Beggars Pizza may also charge a fee for these additional programs.
The FDD specifies that these trainings and meetings will be held at times and locations designated by Beggars Pizza, and may be conducted via the Internet, intranet, conference call, or other means determined by Beggars Pizza. While Beggars Pizza provides instructors, training materials, and technical training tools at no charge for the initial training program, the franchisee is responsible for registration fees and all other expenses, including transportation, lodging, meals, and wages, for themselves and their employees in connection with both the initial and any additional training programs and mandatory meetings.
This requirement for ongoing training is fairly common in franchising, as it allows the franchisor to maintain brand standards, introduce new products or services, and ensure that franchisees and their staff are up-to-date on best practices. However, franchisees should carefully consider the potential costs associated with these additional training programs, including registration fees and travel expenses, when evaluating the overall investment required to operate a Beggars Pizza franchise.
