Answer from 2025 FDD Document

Customer will be assumed to have obtained any necessary permission from the owners of any Devices that are not owned by Customer to download a copy of the SpeedLine Pay App onto the Devices. Upon any End User no longer requiring the SpeedLine Pay App as part of the End User's duties for Customer or any End User ceasing to be employed by Customer, Customer agrees to ensure that the SpeedLine Pay App is immediately deleted or removed from the End User's Device. As between SpeedLine and Customer, Customer accepts responsibility for use of the SpeedLine Pay App in relation to any Device, whether or not the Device is owned by Customer.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Beggars Pizza's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, when a franchisee (referred to as "Customer" in this context) downloads the SpeedLine Pay App onto devices not owned by them, Beggars Pizza will assume that the franchisee has already obtained the necessary permission from the device owners. This is crucial for franchisees because they are responsible for ensuring they have the legal right to install and use the app on any device, especially if employees or other individuals use their personal phones or tablets for business purposes.

The franchisee is also responsible for the app's usage on any device, regardless of ownership. This includes ensuring that the app is immediately deleted from a device when an end-user no longer requires it or ceases employment. This places the onus on the franchisee to manage and monitor the use of the SpeedLine Pay App across all devices used in their Beggars Pizza business.

Furthermore, the agreement stipulates that the franchisee is responsible for providing the devices, meeting the operating system requirements, and obtaining internet access for the SpeedLine Pay App. They must also comply with all technology control and export laws related to the app's technology. This highlights the franchisee's comprehensive responsibility for the technological infrastructure supporting the app's use within their Beggars Pizza franchise.
