- 7.13 Refurbishment.
At Franchisor's request, but no more than once every five (5) years, unless sooner required by Franchisee's lease, Franchisee must refurbish the Premises, at its
expense, to conform to the building design, trade dress, color schemes and presentation of the Proprietary Marks in a manner consistent with the then-current image for new Beggars Pizza® restaurants. Such refurbishment may include, without limitation, structural changes, remodeling, redecoration, and modifications to existing improvements.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Beggars Pizza Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are required to refurbish their premises at the franchisor's request, but no more than once every five years. However, there is an exception: if the franchisee's lease requires refurbishment sooner, they must comply with the lease terms.
The refurbishment must align with the current image of new Beggars Pizza restaurants, encompassing building design, trade dress, color schemes, and the presentation of proprietary marks. This may include structural changes, remodeling, redecoration, and modifications to existing improvements.
This requirement ensures that all Beggars Pizza locations maintain a consistent and up-to-date brand image. The franchisee bears the expense of the refurbishment, which could involve significant capital expenditure. Prospective franchisees should factor in these potential costs when evaluating the financial viability of the franchise and review their lease agreement carefully.
